Is there an inherent aestheticism in huge hydroelectric dams and artificial rivers? Can they even be beautiful?

Whichever way you look at it, it is clear that these plants make a mark on the landscape. The images shown here are all from the Stornorrfors hydropower plant a few kilometers upstream of the Ume River from Umeå. It is Sweden's largest plant, producing close to 2300 GWh per year.
