Guest appearance on social media and enterprise development

My dear friend Mark Gibbs, a very talented artist based in Cumbria, suggested that we try to do a joint post on Facebook. We have now decided what we want to post later this weekend. The idea is to show two of our images next to each other and then write a short personal reflection on the other person's feed. Will this engage and start discussions or other interactions? I admit I'm a bit nervous. The plan is to do this on Sunday evening.

Another thing that has happened since my last post here on the blog is that I am participating in an innovation program for small businesses in the creative fields. The program is in Swedish and is called 'Kulturarvsprogrammet' and is a collaboration between eXpression, RISE and the regional museum 'Västerbottens museum'. A lot has happened so far, both inspiring lectures and meetings but also excellent networking opportunities. When it comes to ideas that need prototypes, we have access to state-of-the-art workshops with everything from embroidery machines, all kinds of sewing machines, vinyl cutters, water jet cutters, 3D printers and etching lasers. I haven't yet thought about what I can and want to do there. So far, I have tried to etch out a tree image with a laser.

Finally, I should mention something about my various art projects. They are moving in the right direction, and that is forward. I am in the final phase of a series of images that I have been working on for a long time. A project that started as one thing and evolved into something else. I will be posting on my site soon, and if you had visited my website a few years ago you might recognize some of the images. So one project is about to be finished, and new ones are on the way. At the moment I'm working on a new project connecting to the Ume river. At the moment I'm waiting for permission/approval to photograph in a limited area. I hope I get access soon so I can continue planning to take that picture. So exciting.

Out in the field with my old 4x5 inch Linhof.
