Spring is finally coming!

This morning, when I went out to the mailbox to get the morning paper, I heard a very welcome sound from above. Three whooper swans were trumpeting as they flew over our house in Sandbacka, Umeå. A hopeful sign of impending snowmelt and the arrival of spring. Late winter is a fantastic season with sparkling white expanses and sunshine that warms the skin again. I always get so hopeful when nature "comes to life" again after the long winter dormancy.

It's been quiet here for far too long. I simply haven't prioritized my website or my other communication channels very much in the past six months. It goes against all recommendations on how to build a stable and rewarding relationship with your potential followers and customers. I've been busy elsewhere with freelance assignments in graphic design and layout, as well as still photography and film production.

Photogravure is a laborious and slow process. Here you can see the printing plate and tarlatan used when wiping the highlights and removing excess ink before printing.

Something I've spent a lot of working hours on recently is upgrading my website. I wanted it to feel "lighter" and more accessible. The ambition is also that you should get the same experience and functionality on your mobile. Besides that, perhaps the clearest change is that the basic version is now in Swedish with the possibility to choose English if you want. If your web browser is set to English, you will automatically end up on the subdomain with the English translation.

What else? Well, tonight I'm off to Grafikmaskinen's annual meeting in Röbäck. That'll be fun. Then there's a lot of other stuff going on in the future, but that'll have to wait for another time.

A curious graphic designer / photographer who is looking forward to the annual meeting at Grafikmaskinen but without printing ink on his face tonight.

PS! The shop will be filled up in the future. I have four numbered series of graphic sheets from the PAVANE series that I was planning to put out there.
