Finally, there was a hint of spring.

This morning, when I went out to the mailbox to pick up the morning paper, I heard a very welcome and sound from above. Three whooper swans trumpeted as they flew over our house at Sandbacka in Umeå. A hopeful sign of impending snow melt and the arrival of spring. Spring-winter is a fantastic season with sparkling white expanses and sunshine that warms the skin again. I'm always hopeful when nature "comes to life" again after the long winter hibernation.

It's been quiet here for far too long. I simply haven't prioritized my website or my other communication channels very much the last six months. It goes against all recommendations on how to build a stable and rewarding relationship with your potential followers and customers. I've been busy elsewhere with freelance assignments in graphic design and layout as well as stills and film production.

Photogravure is a laborious and slow process. Shown here are the printing plate and tarlatan used to dry out the highlights and remove excess ink for printing.

Something that I've been working on lately is to upgrade my website. I have wished that it would feel "lighter" and more accessible. The ambition is also to get the same experience and functionality on your mobile. In addition to that, perhaps the most obvious change is that the basic version is now in Swedish with the option to choose English if you want. If you have your browser set to English, you will automatically end up on the subdomain with English translation.

What's more? Well tonight it's off to Grafikmaskinen's annual meeting in Röbäck. It's going to be fun. Then there are a lot of other things going on in the future, but it will have to be saved for a later time.

A curious graphic designer / photographer who is looking forward to the annual meeting at Grafikmaskinen but without ink on his face tonight.

PS! It will be replenished in the shop in the future. I have four numbered series of prints from the PAVANE series that I thought I'd post there.
